About the Topic

In this presentation, David will share his thoughts, observations, and lessons learned from a marketing career that started with consumer packaged goods moved to high tech and ended up in health care. You’ll hear about what is different and what is similar, what skills and strategies transfer, and what lessons have been learned. The discussion will also include a few stories (short case studies or anecdotes), and what challenges keep him up at night. And he will attempt to answer the question, “Why is health care marketing more like gardening than warfare?”

What's In It for You?

David Perry will share:

  • David Perry will share:
  • His experience with the recent evolution of the Seattle Children’s brand and how he feels his experience outside of health care helped make a difference
  • Positioning marketing as a strategic priority with health care administrators, clinical, and research leadership
  • Some key tips on how his team works with the Seattle Children’s Foundation to grow revenues for the institution (and establish marketing as more than a cost center)
